Sahamlife Renovates “The Pitch” At Kumasi Technical University

The Television Room known as the “The Pitch” which serves as the main source of entertainment and relaxation for the students has undergone major renovation by SahamLife Insurance Group (SLG).

The Pitch has for a long time been unusable as the television set had broken down and the furniture was also in a bad state.  SahamLife Insurance decided to undertake the project as part of its corporate social responsibilities. This is generally seen as appropriate and it demonstrates SLG’s commitment to give back to its partners and stakeholders who are also members of the general society. The renovation works covered various activities such as tiling, ceiling, replacement of doors and windows as well as the other furniture works.

In the address of Prof. Asiamah Yeboah the Acting Vice Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), he underscored the importance of relaxation in the life of the learner and thanked the SLG for demonstrating themselves as reliable partners as the current renovation was the second project the Group had undertaken within a short period of partnership with KsTU. Like Oliver Twist, the Acting Vice Chancellor asked that more of such projects be undertaken in the Institution as the University was ready to collaborate with SLG.

The General Manager of SLG Mrs. Gifty Alarbie-Fiagbe on her part encouraged the Management of KsTU and the Students Representative Council to ensure that the edifice was kept in good shape and used profitably.

The outgoing President of the Students Representative Council Master Eugene Prempeh in his remarks thanked the Saham Group for responding promptly to the students’ call for help and gave assurance that the renovated facility would be managed as expected.
