Lecturers from Kumasi Technical University Featured Among the Top 1,000 Scientist in Ghana

Kumasi Technical University has been ranked among the highest tertiary institutions in Ghana by the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index 2022 Version 2. Additionally, more than 17 Scientists from the University appeared among the top 1,000 scientists featured this year.

The AD Scientific Index 2022 Version 2 named Ing. Dr.  Edem Bensah (Senior Lecturer) and Head of Department of Chemical Engineering in Kumasi Technical University as the Best Scientist in the University and placed 320 out of the 1000 academics featured in Ghana.

In the current rankings, Dr.  Collins Ameyaw (Senior Lecturer) and TUTAG National President, while Dr.  Lewis A. Asante of the Department of Estate Management followed as the top 3 Scientists in KsTU. Dr. Francis K. Bondinuba (Senior Lecturer at the Department of Building Technology), Dr. Sarfo Mensah (University Grants Coordinator) and Prof. Grabriel Dwomoh (Director International Affairs and Institutional Linkages) emerged 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.

Dr. Alfred Sarbah, Prof Felix Engmann, Dr. Bernard Effah, Dr. E. K. Ennin, Ing. Dr. Julius Ahiakpor, Prof.  Peter. K. Dadzie , Dr. Abdul A Iddrisu , Dr. Collins K. Kwarteng , Dr. John Agyei , Nana Kwame Gyamfi , Dr Amina Abubakari are among the other researchers that were featured among the top scientists in Ghana.

The assessment procedure for ranking the 1000 Ghanaian scientists and their scientific studies was based on international standard scoring systems, including citations in renowned databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Publons and Google Scholar, to provide the numerical indicators showing how productive and effective a researcher is.

The 2022 AD Scientific Index also listed KsTU as the 11th out of the public universities surveyed in Ghana. This feat, achieved by the scientists from KsTU, follows from the Webometrics ranking of the University as the first Technical University in Ghana. The  AD  Scientific  Index  is  a  ranking  and  analysis  system  based  on  the  scientific performance  and  the  added  value  of  the  scientific  productivity  of  individual  scientists. It also provides rankings of institutions based on the scientific characteristics of affiliated scientists.

The Vice-Chancellor congratulates all the KsTU Scientists who have made it to the list of the top 1000 scientists in Ghana and encourages the other lecturers to keep pushing. The University is so proud of your commitment to academic excellence.
