Kumasi Technical University Holds Its 27th Matriculation Ceremony

It was all joy at Kumasi Technical University on Friday 11th October, 2019 as the ‘ritual’ performed to usher first years into the University was held. At exactly 9:00am, Kumasi Technical University’s Sports Complex which was the venue for the Matriculation Ceremony was filled to its capacity as the fresh students and the University’s officials were seated for the occasion to begin.

In this year’s ceremony, a total of 6277 students gained admission into the University out of the 7094 applicants. Out of the 6277 admitted students, a total of 4561, comprising 1839 females and 2722 males accepted the offer of admission. It is gratifying to know that 25 postgraduate students pursuing various Master of Technology programmes in Water and Environmental Engineering, Health Statistics, Financial Statistics as well as Chemical Engineering were all matriculated during the Ceremony.

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor (VC), Nana Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw who admitted his first cohort of students into the University gave an excellent speech to welcome the newly admitted students. He admonished them to take their studies seriously as that was their purpose for coming into the University. The VC further encouraged the fresh students to strictly adhere to the rules of the Institution in order to enjoy their stay on campus.

The University’s choir gave a number of melodious songs to spice up the programme.
