KsTU Honours Its Retired Staff

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU has honored its staff who retired in 2019/2020 academic year. The brief but impressive event took place in the Council Chamber of the University on the 30th November, 2020.  Welcoming the retirees, the Registrar of the Institution Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye informed the gathering about the fact that ordinarily, the event should have included the entire University community amidst merriment. However, COVID-19 did not allow the usual end of year get-together with the retirees.

The Vice-Chancellor Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw indicated that he wished the event could have been held in a more elaborate fashion to demonstrate the University’s appreciation regarding the service rendered to the Institution by the retirees. He said, spending one’s best part with an institution is a great thing and that it was only fair to show appreciation to such people. The VC was full of praise for the retirees and said they needed to be celebrated.

He intimated that in the most advanced universities, there are traditions that make long-serving member “perpetual relatives” of those universities. He indicated that the University wants to continue to strengthen the already existing good relationship between KsTU and its retirees. In that regard, the VC mentioned the formation of KsTU Retirees Association. He encouraged the retirees not to hesitate in approaching the University for any needed support.

The retirees on their part thanked the VC and his team for the direction in which he is leading KsTU and encouraged him to continue. They were also grateful for the formation of the KsTU Retirees Association.
