IDCE HOLDS SPECIAL CONGREGATION

The Institute of Distance and Continuing Education (IDCE) of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has organised a special congregation for graduands of the Technician programmes who completed their studies in 2018.

The graduation ceremony which had 171 graduands awarded with different certificates was brief but colourful. It had in attendance the Interim Vice Chancellor of KsTU Prof. Asiamah Yeboah, the Acting Registrar Mr. Abraham A. Agyei, the Director of IDCE Dr. Alfred Sarbah, as well as other deans and directors of the University.

In his welcome address, the Head of Department for Technician Programmes Mr. Wilson K. Nimsaah, congratulated the graduands for a fight well fought and encouraged them to practicalise the knowledge they have acquired. The Director of IDCE, Dr. Sarbah also expressed his satisfaction that the graduands have been able to withstand the grueling task of learning in addition to their individual challenges as adult learners. He further used the occasion to express his appreciation to the lecturers, parents, guardians and partners of the graduands for their supports which have led to those great accomplishments.

In his words of encouragement, the Interim Vice Chancellor tasked the graduands to use their newly acquired skills to affect lives positively in the world of work. He urged them to exhibit good behaviour as they have now become ambassadors of the University and for that matter, all their actions and inaction have a direct or indirect effect on the image of the University. He assured the graduands that the Institution was always ready for them should they decide to come back and continue their education.
