Four KsTU students embark on CCI exchange programme

Four students from Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) will have their dreams come true as they are set to embark on a life-changing exchange programme in the United States of America. The exchange programme dubbed “Community College Initiative (CCI)” offers opportunity for brilliant students to study for a year in selected Colleges in the USA.

The four students were selected after a rigorous selection process by the US Embassy in Ghana. At a ceremony to bid them farewell, the Vice-Chancellor Ing. Prof Osei-Wusu Achaw, received briefing from the Director of International Affairs and Institutional Linkages Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh about the processes that ensured the selection of the students and introduced them to the Vice-Chancellor as well. He explained that the programme is fully funded by the US Embassy in Ghana and all documentations were ready. The students were scheduled to depart to the United States of America before the end of July.

The four students representing the KsTU are Emmanuel Oti- HND Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship (Kirkwood Community College), Ziutang Abass Zainab – HND Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (Fox Valley Technical College), Owusu King- HND Computer Science (Houston Community College) and Danso Francis Okyere – HND Accounting with Computing (Fox Valley Technical College).

The Vice-Chancellor in his remarks congratulated the students on this enviable achievement and encouraged them to continue to work hard even as they go. He encouraged them to use the opportunity for networking and serve as good ambassadors of KsTU. “Being the 4th batch of students to travel on this programme, I expect you to continue to lift the name of KsTU high and excel in your various institutions”, the Vice-Chancellor advised.

The students thanked the University for paving the way for them to access this life-changing opportunity and promised to be good ambassadors of KsTU.
